fix(session): compact once per overflow and list shell-written files in the ledger - #1639
Two compaction fixes. One makes a single overflow produce a single summary. The other lists files written by shell commands in the post-compaction ledger.
1. One overflow produced two summaries (session/prompt.ts).
After a compaction that keeps a recent tail, filterCompacted renders [compaction, summary, ...tail, continue]. The loop took the array-last finished assistant as lastFinished. That is the retained pre-compaction turn, which still carries its overflowing token usage, so the overflow check fired again before any new request and created a second compaction. The second summary was built from the kept tail only (system + one tool step + instruction). It replaced a full summary with a summary of the last few messages, and it cost an extra model call.
Fix: select lastFinished by id with MessageV2.latest(msgs).finished. That lands on the summary, which the overflow check already skips.
2. The ledger missed files written by shell commands (session/compaction.ts).
The "Session state ledger" listed only files written by write/edit/apply_patch. Files created or changed through bash (redirects, scripts, sed -i) were reported only as "possible but unverified", so the continuing agent re-read or re-created files it had already written. The session already records a per-step snapshot diff as a patch part that names every changed file.
Fix: buildLedger reads patch parts and lists those files as snapshot entries, using the step's last tool completion time (or the message completion time when the step has no completed tool).
Snapshot entries have their own section after the write-tool entries: "Files changed in the project during your steps (workspace snapshot diffs; may include changes by other processes such as IDE saves or formatters)". Each reads "changed during your step at … (snapshot)", with "via shell" only when that step ran bash. The snapshot cannot tell what changed a file, so these entries do not say "written by you".
Snapshot entries are capped at 5 paths per step and 15 overall, with "… and N more files changed during your step at …" and "… and N more files changed during M earlier steps" lines. If the ledger is still over its token budget, the snapshot list shrinks before the note, the advisory or the recent tool calls are dropped. Paths inside the project root render relative to it.
A file written by a write/edit tool in the same step keeps that tool's attribution.
When the session has snapshot diffs, entries whose file no longer exists are removed at the end of buildLedger (one existence check per distinct path). This covers a shell delete, a shell rename (the patch lists only the new path) and a file written and deleted in the same step.
Only write-tool entries, or snapshot entries for a path a write tool wrote earlier in the session, corroborate a carried summary claim as [verified]. A patch-only entry never does.
When snapshot diffs are present, the note reads: "Workspace snapshot diffs list files changed during the steps that recorded one, including shell changes; they omit git-ignored files, files outside the project directory, and new files over 2 MB. Shell changes in steps without a snapshot diff are possible but unverified." (Snapshot.patch diffs -- .; files already tracked that exceed 2 MB stay staged and are listed.)
The existence check is injectable for unit tests.
Not in this PR: sending the summary request on the agent's cached prefix (same tool definitions and first system message, with toolChoice: "none"). The summary request still sends tools: {} and the compaction agent's own system prompt, so it misses the prefix cache. It cannot be done as specified:
@ai-sdk/anthropic 3.0.78 maps toolChoice: "none" to tools: undefined, and @ai-sdk/amazon-bedrock empties the tool list. On those adapters the tool block, which is first in the cache order, never reaches the wire.
@ai-sdk/openai-compatible keeps the tools with tool_choice: "none", so the gateway model could share the prefix. That needs a check that the gateway and its fallback providers accept the shape, which this PR does not do.
A follow-up should gate prefix sharing by adapter and pass the prompt loop's last request (system, environment, tools, user.system) into SessionCompaction.process, with tool execute stripped. The mock capture below records the current miss.
How did you verify your code works?
New test/session/compaction-double-summary.test.ts: seeds a completed tail-keeping compaction (tail assistant at 95K of a 100K context, then compaction, summary, continue) and runs prompt.loop on a mock provider. It asserts exactly one compaction user and one summary after the loop. With the by-id lastFinished line removed it fails (2 and 2), so it guards the fix behaviourally.
test/session/compaction-ledger.test.ts, "snapshot diffs" blocks: a bash-written file is listed "via shell"; a write-tool file in the same step keeps its tool; a later shell change updates an earlier write entry; a deleted file is dropped; without patch parts the "unverified" note stays. Review follow-ups (all failed before the fix): 120 shell files + 1 write-tool file at maxTokens: 500 keep the write-tool entry, the note, the advisory and the recent calls; an overall cap across 30 steps; relative paths; "changed during your step (snapshot)" without bash and "via shell" with it; the note names files outside the project directory; shell rename; write and delete in one step; message completion time; a patch-only entry does not verify a carried claim, while a write-tool file later changed by shell still does.
Review follow-up regression check, bun test test/session test/tool test/agent (packages/opencode) on the merged head before the changes and after: before 2134 pass / 1 fail (tool.registry > loads Zod-schema custom tools with JSON Schema and validation, a 5 s timeout under the full run); after 2144 pass / 0 fail. No test fails after that passed before.
Request-body capture of both builds against a local mock gateway (comment): on main two overflows produce 4 summary requests, and the ledger never lists the file the agent wrote with bash. On this branch the same run produces 2 summary requests, and the ledger lists notes.md "via shell" after each compaction.
bun test (packages/opencode): 19,855 pass, 254 fail. 243 of the failures are the DuckDB native binding missing from this worktree's install; with the binding copied in, the 19 affected files pass (409/409). The other 11 also fail on main in the same run setup (mcp.headers ×6, mcp HttpApi status, session diff with missing patch ×2, --time-budget ×2 in json-output.test.ts). main additionally failed the two Telemetry.init() opt-out cases, which pass on this branch.
Typecheck clean; script/check-tracker-leaks.ts and analyze.ts --markers --base origin/main --strict pass.
Cost side effects
Reduces cost: one fewer summary model call per overflow when compaction keeps a tail. Adds no model calls, queries or resources. The ledger change reads patch parts already stored in the session and, when the session has snapshot diffs, makes one existsSync per distinct ledger path at compaction time.

Double summary: after a compaction that keeps a tail, `filterCompacted`
renders `[compaction, summary, ...tail, continue]`. The prompt loop took
the array-last finished assistant as `lastFinished`, which is the retained
pre-compaction turn still carrying its overflowing usage, so the overflow
check fired again before any new request and wrote a second summary. The
loop now selects `lastFinished` by id via `MessageV2.latest(msgs).finished`,
which lands on the summary that the overflow check skips. One overflow
now produces one summary.
Ledger: the compaction ledger only listed files written by write/edit
tools, so files created or changed by shell commands (redirects, scripts,
`sed -i`) were missing and the continuing agent re-read or re-created
them. `buildLedger` now reads the step `patch` parts (per-step snapshot
diffs) and lists those files "via shell", keeps write/edit attribution for
files a tool wrote in the same step, and drops listed files that no longer
exist. The file-existence check is injectable for unit tests.

Request-body capture: main vs this branch (local mock gateway)
Same headless run on both builds against a local OpenAI-compatible mock of the gateway (no real gateway calls). The model is altimate-backend/altimate-default. The agent runs echo step N >> notes.md once per step for 10 steps. The mock reports 190K prompt tokens on agent turns 4 and 8, so the context overflows twice, and each step prints about 10K characters, so compaction keeps a split tail. main = bdb7dcc7b9.

Files changed by shell commands are listed above (via shell); changes to git-ignored files or files over 2 MB are not tracked.
The last column records the follow-up named under "Not in this PR". The summary request still sends no tools and its own system prompt, so its prefix hash never matches the agent's, on either build.
Compaction now uses workspace snapshot diffs to record changed files in the session ledger. Ledger output applies path, attribution, and token limits. The prompt loop selects the latest finished assistant after compacted-history filtering, with an integration test covering repeated summaries.
The ledger records snapshot paths with step and shell attribution, preserves tool-write attribution, and removes paths that no longer exist. Tests cover snapshot capture and missing paths.
Render and qualify ledger evidence packages/opencode/src/session/compaction.ts, packages/opencode/test/session/compaction-ledger.test.ts
Ledger output limits snapshot entries by step and token budget, formats project-relative paths, and distinguishes tool-written files from snapshot-only entries. Snapshot-only entries do not corroborate carried claims. Tests cover rendering, lifecycle wording, and corroboration.
Select the latest finished assistant packages/opencode/src/session/prompt.ts, packages/opencode/test/session/compaction-double-summary.test.ts
After compacted-history filtering, the prompt loop selects the finished assistant from MessageV2.latest(msgs). The integration test checks that the loop does not create a second summary before its next request.
Resolve the synchronous filesystem sweep before merging: large snapshots on slow filesystems can stall compaction and unrelated requests. Smaller correctness gaps can also skip proactive compaction for imported histories or omit and misattribute ledger evidence.

Still open, and not in this PR: the summary request itself is uncached (cache_read 0 on the summary call), and the first request after the compaction was a full miss (84K fresh tokens). Both are being traced through the request bodies and belong with the prefix work in #1631.
Run ledger: 50 requests, 1,029,604 billable, cache hit rate 91% (5.08M of 5.60M context tokens read from cache), 3 full misses in total.

Requesting changes for one major finding: a single shell command that changes more than about 11-20 files pushes the rest of the ledger out of its token budget. The other inline comments are minors. None of them blocks on its own:
"last written by you" wording: the advisory already names external edits, safe to do in a follow-up
[verified] carry promotion: edge input
note omits files outside the project: one-phrase wording fix
shell rename stale path: pre-existing
same-step write and delete: edge input
no behavioural double-summary test: test-only
What holds up
Newest-reply selection is correct, and I confirmed the fix at loop level: base compacts again before any agent request, this branch does not. The compaction threshold and the 0.65 estimate are untouched, and a real overflow on the next request still reaches compaction through processor.ts:1223 and :1335-1350.
The ledger goes into the persisted continue message once per compaction, so it does not churn the cached prefix. It carries paths only, redacted, with git-ignored files excluded.
No merge conflict with #1631, #1632, #1641, #1643 or #1646, and none of them changes lastFinished, buildLedger or renderLedger.
Tests I ran
test/session, test/tool and test/agent at base and head: 49 distinct failing test names and 11 errors on each, and the same names on both, so no new failures. Head has 8 more passing tests, which are the new ones. The failures come from the shared full run: compaction-summarizer-integrity.test.ts, the largest group, passes 18/18 alone on both revisions. I did not re-run the rest in isolation.
The two test files this PR touches: 54 pass and 5 fail against base, 59 pass on head.
analyze.ts --markers --strict passes.
I did not re-run the mock or real gateway runs.

Major: shell-listed files can use up the whole ledger budget and push out everything else.
renderLedger keeps the longest line prefix under LEDGER_MAX_TOKENS (500). File lines come first, newest first, with ties sorted by path. Snapshot.patch paths are absolute, so each line costs about 25-35 tokens. One shell step that changes more than roughly 11-20 tracked files (a formatter, sqlfluff fix across a project, a code generator) fills the budget.
I ran the real buildLedger and renderLedger with 120 shell files plus 1 earlier write-tool file at maxTokens: 500. The output had 11 entries. The write-tool file, the shell note, the advisory and the recent tool calls were all gone, and nothing says entries were dropped.
The prefix truncation is not new, but until now only write/edit/apply_patch events could reach it, so a single command could not trigger it. The continuing agent loses the files it wrote and its recent calls, and sees an arbitrary alphabetical slice, so it goes back to re-reading. The real-gateway run listed 9 entries, just under this limit.
Fix: cap shell-derived entries with an and N more line, list write-tool entries first, and reserve budget for the note, the advisory and the recent calls. Please add a test with a large patch part.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in abe7ee6: snapshot entries now sit after write-tool entries, capped at 5 per step and 15 overall with "… and N more files changed during your step at …", render relative to the project root, and shrink before the note, advisory or calls drop; the new 120-shell-files + 1 write-tool test at maxTokens: 500 asserts all four survive.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Minor: snapshot entries now promote carried claims to [verified] permanently.
itemCorroborated (line 1098) walks ledger.writes, bare filenames match by basename, and carry status is append-only. With a patch-only entry /r/secrets/acquisition.md, corroborateCarry marks the summary claim "Wrote acquisition.md" as verified. The comment at line 603 excludes bash because shell writes are unverifiable, and this check relied on that.
Fix: corroborate carry only from tool-written entries, or require a directory-qualified match for shell entries.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in abe7ee6: itemCorroborated skips snapshot entries unless a write tool wrote that path earlier, so a patch-only acquisition.md stays [claimed, unverified] (test added).
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Minor: anything the snapshot saw is stated as "last written by you" and "verified".
A patch part lists every path that changed in the project during the step: IDE saves, formatters, parallel subagents, background processes. That includes steps that ran no shell. A patch-only message with sawBash false renders - /r/secrets/acquisition.md — last written by you at ... via shell, and the advisory then says to prefer the ledger over re-reading. You flagged this in the PR body as a behaviour to review.
Fix: use "changed during your step" wording for snapshot entries, and only say via shell when the step ran bash.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in abe7ee6: snapshot entries read "changed during your step at … (snapshot)" in their own section and add "via shell" only when that step ran bash (tests added).
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Minor: this note omits files outside the project directory.
Snapshot.patch diffs with -- ., so python scan.py > /tmp/scan.md is never listed, while this line says shell changes are listed except git-ignored and over-2 MB files. The old "possible but unverified" text stayed true for that case. sawSnapshot is also session-wide, so one patch part changes the note for the whole session.
Fix: add "or files outside the project directory".
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in abe7ee6: the note now names files outside the project directory and new files over 2 MB, and says shell changes in steps without a snapshot diff stay unverified, so it holds per session.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Minor: a shell rename leaves the old path in the ledger.
git diff --cached --name-only uses rename detection, so mv old.ts new.ts lists only new.ts (checked with git directly; --no-renames lists both). An earlier write entry for old.ts is never revisited, so the ledger points the agent at a removed path, which the apply_patch branch at lines 938-941 explicitly guards against.
Fix: pass --no-renames in Snapshot.patch after checking its other consumers, or sweep writes with exists at the end of buildLedger.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in abe7ee6: with snapshot diffs, buildLedger sweeps writes with exists once per path at the end, so the old path of a shell rename drops out (test added).
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Minor: a file written and deleted in the same step stays listed.
This check runs before exists. With write /r/tmp.txt and rm /r/tmp.txt in one step, a patch listing the file and exists false, buildLedger returns a write entry for the deleted file. The PR's test covers the two-message case, which works.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Minor: the double-summary fix has no behavioural test.
I ran both new test files against the base. The two filterCompacted/latest tests here pass on base (they repeat message-v2.test.ts:1789), and only this source-text guard fails. The guard is indexOf on two strings, so it still passes if the assignment becomes conditional or unreachable, and it fails on a harmless rename. The four behavioural ledger tests do fail on base.
The fix itself works. I seeded a completed tail-keeping compaction and ran prompt.loop: base wrote a second compaction user and summary before any agent request, and this branch went straight to the agent with one summary. Please add that as a prompt.loop test in place of this guard.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in 282ab39: the source-text guard and the two duplicate unit tests are replaced by a prompt.loop test that seeds a completed tail-keeping compaction; it fails without the by-id lastFinished (2 compactions) and passes with it.
Nits and items that have no diff line for this review:
Stale comments.compaction.ts:584-590 and :603 still say facts come from tool events only and that bash is excluded. The :844 docstring "Deterministic: output depends only on the message list passed in" no longer holds with existsSync.
Write time.compaction.ts:897: a step with no completed tool uses the message creation time as the write time.
Type.compaction.ts:833: sawSnapshot? is optional though buildLedger always sets it.
2 MB wording. The note is exact only for new files. snapshot/index.ts blocks large untracked paths, while already-tracked files over 2 MB stay staged and are listed.
PR body. It says one existsSync per listed file. It is one per file occurrence per patch part, and a per-call cache would remove repeats. The cost is small and only at compaction.
Pre-existing, outside this diff.notePinCompaction at compaction.ts:1298-1312 has the same array-position assumption this PR fixes in the prompt loop. Retained tail assistants count as progress, so immediate is false with 2 or more of them, which weakens the pin livelock guard. The same by-id approach would fix it in a follow-up.
A single shell step that changed more than ~11-20 files filled the 500-token
ledger budget and pushed out the write-tool entries, the shell note, the
advisory and the recent tool calls.
- Snapshot entries get their own section after write-tool entries, at most 5
paths per step and 15 overall, with "… and N more files changed during your
step at …" counts; the list shrinks before the note, advisory or calls drop.
- Paths inside the project root render relative to it.
- Snapshot entries read "changed during your step at … (snapshot)" and add
"via shell" only when that step ran `bash`.
- Only write-tool entries (or snapshot entries for a path a write tool wrote
earlier) corroborate a carried summary claim as `[verified]`.
- The note names files outside the project directory and new files over 2 MB,
and says shell changes in steps without a snapshot diff stay unverified.
- With snapshot diffs, entries whose file no longer exists are swept once at
the end (shell rename, write then delete in one step).
- A step with no completed tool uses the message completion time.
- `Ledger.sawSnapshot` is required; stale comments updated.

Replaces the source-text guard with a behavioural test: a completed
tail-keeping compaction is seeded and `prompt.loop` runs on a mock provider.
The loop must go to the agent with one compaction user and one summary.
Without the `lastFinished` selection by id, it writes a second compaction.
The two `filterCompacted`/`latest` unit tests duplicated
`message-v2.test.ts` and are removed.

Addressed review (merged main, then abe7ee68af and 282ab3995a):
Major, ledger budget: snapshot entries come after write-tool entries, capped at 5 per step and 15 overall with "… and N more" lines, and render relative to the project root. The snapshot list shrinks before the note, advisory or calls drop. Test: 120 shell files + 1 write-tool file at maxTokens: 500.
[verified] carry: snapshot-only entries no longer corroborate.
Wording: "changed during your step at … (snapshot)", with "via shell" only when the step ran bash.
Note: names files outside the project directory and new files over 2 MB, and stays accurate per session.
Shell rename, and write then delete in one step: end-of-build exists sweep.
Behavioural prompt.loop double-summary test replaces the source guard. It fails without the fix.
Nits: stale comments and docstring, required sawSnapshot, 2 MB wording, existsSync count in the body, message completion time for a step with no completed tool.
Not done here: notePinCompaction array-position assumption (pre-existing, outside this diff), left for a follow-up.
test/session, test/tool, test/agent: before 1 fail (tool.registry 5 s timeout), after 0 fail.

Reset attribution at each step start.
If a message has a bash step without a patch followed by another step, the ledger can label the later snapshot via shell. Stale write-tool state can also retain an outdated write time. Reset the state on step-start, after processing any preceding patch.

Move the existence sweep off the event loop.
When a snapshot contains many changed files, compaction synchronously checks every retained path, including paths the ledger will not display. Slow filesystem checks can stall the prompt loop and unrelated requests on every later compaction. Use bounded asynchronous checks while preserving deleted-file filtering and carry corroboration.

"Shell commands also ran this session; any file changes they made are possible but unverified (shell writes produce no edit event).",
"Advisory: these files were last written by you at the times shown — prefer this ledger over re-reading them; re-read a file only if a tool errored, you suspect external changes (e.g. IDE edits), or you are about to edit it.",
When a snapshot records an external change, the advisory says the agent last wrote that file and discourages rereading it. Scope that advice to tool-attributed writes, and avoid applying it to snapshot-only entries.

Preserve a snapshot filename before truncating recent calls.
When long recent calls make the ledger exceed its budget, compose(0) removes every snapshot filename. The continuation can therefore omit shell-written files even when a filename would fit after truncating calls. Preserve at least one filename when space permits.

Select the latest finished assistant by stored order.
If an imported summary has a greater ID than a newer finished assistant, this selects the summary and skips the proactive overflow check. The loop can then send an oversized request. Use compareMessageOrder to select the latest finished assistant while preserving the retained-tail behavior.

Issue for this PR
Closes #1638
Type of change
What does this PR do?
Two compaction fixes. One makes a single overflow produce a single summary. The other lists files written by shell commands in the post-compaction ledger.
1. One overflow produced two summaries (
session/prompt.ts).After a compaction that keeps a recent tail,
filterCompactedrenders[compaction, summary, ...tail, continue]. The loop took the array-last finished assistant aslastFinished. That is the retained pre-compaction turn, which still carries its overflowing token usage, so the overflow check fired again before any new request and created a second compaction. The second summary was built from the kept tail only (system + one tool step + instruction). It replaced a full summary with a summary of the last few messages, and it cost an extra model call.Fix: select
lastFinishedby id withMessageV2.latest(msgs).finished. That lands on the summary, which the overflow check already skips.2. The ledger missed files written by shell commands (
session/compaction.ts).The "Session state ledger" listed only files written by
write/edit/apply_patch. Files created or changed throughbash(redirects, scripts, sed -i) were reported only as "possible but unverified", so the continuing agent re-read or re-created files it had already written. The session already records a per-step snapshot diff as apatchpart that names every changed file.Fix:
buildLedgerreadspatchparts and lists those files as snapshot entries, using the step's last tool completion time (or the message completion time when the step has no completed tool).bash. The snapshot cannot tell what changed a file, so these entries do not say "written by you".buildLedger(one existence check per distinct path). This covers a shell delete, a shell rename (the patch lists only the new path) and a file written and deleted in the same step.[verified]. A patch-only entry never does.Snapshot.patchdiffs-- .; files already tracked that exceed 2 MB stay staged and are listed.)Not in this PR: sending the summary request on the agent's cached prefix (same tool definitions and first system message, with
toolChoice: "none"). The summary request still sendstools: {}and the compaction agent's own system prompt, so it misses the prefix cache. It cannot be done as specified:@ai-sdk/anthropic3.0.78 mapstoolChoice: "none"totools: undefined, and@ai-sdk/amazon-bedrockempties the tool list. On those adapters the tool block, which is first in the cache order, never reaches the wire.llm.tsno longer flattens history tool calls, so the request would also carrytool_useblocks with no tool definitions (the [Bug] Requests with 'tool_use' and 'tool_result' blocks must include tool definition. #678 400).@ai-sdk/openai-compatiblekeeps the tools withtool_choice: "none", so the gateway model could share the prefix. That needs a check that the gateway and its fallback providers accept the shape, which this PR does not do.A follow-up should gate prefix sharing by adapter and pass the prompt loop's last request (
system, environment, tools, user.system) intoSessionCompaction.process, with toolexecutestripped. The mock capture below records the current miss. How did you verify your code works?
test/session/compaction-double-summary.test.ts: seeds a completed tail-keeping compaction (tail assistant at 95K of a 100K context, then compaction, summary, continue) and runsprompt.loopon a mock provider. It asserts exactly one compaction user and one summary after the loop. With the by-idlastFinishedline removed it fails (2 and 2), so it guards the fix behaviourally.test/session/compaction-ledger.test.ts, "snapshot diffs" blocks: a bash-written file is listed "via shell"; a write-tool file in the same step keeps its tool; a later shell change updates an earlier write entry; a deleted file is dropped; withoutpatchparts the "unverified" note stays. Review follow-ups (all failed before the fix): 120 shell files + 1 write-tool file atmaxTokens: 500keep the write-tool entry, the note, the advisory and the recent calls; an overall cap across 30 steps; relative paths; "changed during your step (snapshot)" withoutbashand "via shell" with it; the note names files outside the project directory; shell rename; write and delete in one step; message completion time; a patch-only entry does not verify a carried claim, while a write-tool file later changed by shell still does.bun test test/session test/tool test/agent(packages/opencode) on the merged head before the changes and after: before 2134 pass / 1 fail (tool.registry > loads Zod-schema custom tools with JSON Schema and validation, a 5 s timeout under the full run); after 2144 pass / 0 fail. No test fails after that passed before.maintwo overflows produce 4 summary requests, and the ledger never lists the file the agent wrote withbash. On this branch the same run produces 2 summary requests, and the ledger listsnotes.md"via shell" after each compaction.bun test(packages/opencode): 19,855 pass, 254 fail. 243 of the failures are the DuckDB native binding missing from this worktree's install; with the binding copied in, the 19 affected files pass (409/409). The other 11 also fail onmainin the same run setup (mcp.headers×6,mcp HttpApistatus, session diff with missing patch×2,--time-budget×2 injson-output.test.ts).mainadditionally failed the twoTelemetry.init()opt-out cases, which pass on this branch.script/check-tracker-leaks.tsandanalyze.ts --markers --base origin/main --strictpass.Cost side effects
Reduces cost: one fewer summary model call per overflow when compaction keeps a tail. Adds no model calls, queries or resources. The ledger change reads
patchparts already stored in the session and, when the session has snapshot diffs, makes oneexistsSyncper distinct ledger path at compaction time.Screenshots / recordings
